I might be in the eye of the storm right now, because why does junior year feel pretty manageable. Yes I have already gotten grades that I’m not very proud of, but I know I could’ve done better. I know my abilities and how to study and honestly that is the key to doing good this year. Pro-tip buy the review book for your AP classes on amazon, it’s a one stop shop for studying.  For once I don’t have to make my own review sheets or flashcards, all I need is my book and a highlighter.

My mom finally started letting me drive on main roads. According to my brother I go to slow, but I’d rather go 22 mph and feel comfortable than 40 mph and be shitting myself. Then again what does he know, he’s 12 and thinks he’s a better driver than me because he does racing simulators on his PS5, like give me a break.

Another pro-tip, the best day to go out to eat in Roslyn is Yom Kippur. I’ve never waited so little time for food, it’s amazing. I tried a new coffee shop in my neighborhood, called Sweet Harbor Coffee. I followed the owners’ journey on tik tok since the spring and I really wanted to love them. It’s a cute husband and wife, who just had a baby. They’re only soft-opening right now, but it’s safe to say I was disappointed. The shop itself is super cute, very cozy, small, nice setup, and indoor seating. The staff was also very nice, one of the guys behind the counter complimented my nail color, which I thought was very sweet. Now here’s the kicker, I got a small matcha latte and it was $7.61. That is a federal crime, especially since the matcha was super weak and it was 95% milk. Now if this was a place that had a large menu, my expectations would be much lower because their matcha wouldn’t be a good indicator of how good their product is. But when you have a small, limited menu that is just drinks, I expect more from a matcha latte, especially when it’s $7.61.

But I digress, my father owns a bakery/cafe anyways so if I really want an iced latte I’ll just go there and get it.

Anyways that’s all for my rant, I say this as my dog is unfolding my throw blanket, yay.

Boob Jail and Junior Year

I survived the first week of junior year. I jokingly told my mom last night that I had more homework this time last year than I do now....
